steel plow anchors
It is one of the most popular types of anchors because it is effective in a wide variety of seabeds, whether it is sand, seaweed or mud. It is made up of a mobile or fixed reed, two maps and an arganeo.
Within the type of plow anchor we find several models:
Delta:
This type of anchor is a variant of the plow anchor, it is also good for mud and sand bottoms. It is not recommended on the bottom of bowling or stones. It is the most used type of anchor in boats of 8 meters or more in length.
Bruce:
It is a type of plow anchor and is suitable for mud and sand, not suitable for stone. Its design was intended for the high seas, for semi-submersible platform work.
QR:
It is one of the most used variants, since sailboats used it for its great efficiency. Although currently, it has been replaced by the Delta anchor, since its fixed rod is more effective on different seabeds.
spade:
This type of anchor can be made of steel, stainless steel or aluminum and we can find it in ten sizes.
The CQR and Delta type anchors have better holding capacity in general in different types of bottom. They are usually easily positioned if the wind or current changes direction.
flat steel anchors
The shape of this type of anchor is designed to prevent its penetration into the bottom. It is an anchor designed to work on the surface.
Within the type of flat anchor we can know the Danforth and Fortress anchor.
Danforth:
Danforth mooring anchors are among the most demanded in the market, since they are strong and durable.
It is a type of flat anchor, with a lot of grip and little weight, but with large dimensions. Its composition is based on two long, iron-shaped nails that dig into the bottom and ensure a good grip. This anchor is especially recommended for sea bottoms with mud, sand or mud.
fortress:
You have to be careful with the snagging of stones or algae. With characteristics similar to the Danforth but with the difference that it is made of aluminium.
steel anchors flat bottom
This type of steel anchor is ideal for large vessels such as ships. They can be found in steel, stainless steel and shot blasted stainless steel.
HHP:
Or High Holding Power, it is an anchor that its weight is reduced to a 25% compared to the rest of the anchors. This means more space and less weight on board.
AC-14:
It is an anchor with good holding capacity and has excellent performance in a variety of soils.

Folding:
It is a steel anchor for small boats such as canoes, boats or jet skis. It has four nails, generally foldable and without stocks. Although it has little grip.
Galvanized Claw:
Suitable for rock, clay or algae bottoms and made of galvanized steel. It is not suitable for sand or gravel bottoms.
Admiralty or stocks:
It has good grip on hard bottoms, stones, clay and sand, but it has inferior performance in mud. Essential in large boats such as a schooner.
